By Gbenga Adeleye

Board member of the Ekiti State Sports Council, Mrs Olusola Osetoba says efforts at putting women footballers in the State in their pride of place requires collaboration with both the State, local government and passionate football enthusiasts.

Osetoba told sport writers recently in an interview that government alone can not finance football, hence the need for private sponsors to complement government’s efforts.

“My passion for women football has spurred me to support a female football tournament in my Local Government, Emure, which would commence soon,” Osetoba said.

Osetoba thanked Governor Kayode Fayemi for not leaving women out of sports administration in the state saying the privilege given her and other female board members at the sports council had encouraged them to contribute their quota in term of youth and sports development.

She also commended the wife of the Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi for reviving the State women football team, Ekiti Queens saying the girls will go places with the support of Ekiti women and all sports stakeholders.
