According to her, “Baseball and Softball is a little known game in Ekiti but with your initiative to bring it to the conciousness of the people in the State (Ekiti), we will support you towards achieving this fit.
“Like I said in some quarters, government can not do everything but as an enabler, we encourage you not to relent in complementing government efforts towards developing sports like you are doing with Baseball and Softball.
“We want to engage more youths in sports, and with Baseball and Softball coming at this time, it will go along way to reduce the high rate of crime and insecurity currently facing our country,” said Osetoba.
The Ekiti Kete Little League Baseball and Softball also unveiled their new set of equipment and school materials worth millions of naira to the Council Chairman which will be distributed and followed with an exhibition game on Tuesday at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti by 12 noon.
I’m fascinated with these equipment and school materials. It will go along way to assist youths who will take to Baseball and Softball as a sport in the State.”
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in the State, Hon. Michael Awopetu will be on hand to distribute the equipment and the educational materials to kids of six (6) secondary schools that will be involved in the games.
