The chairman Sport Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Ekiti State chapter, Qozeem Oladapo has rolled out plans for sports writers to herald the new year with different initiatives.
Oladapo made this known to colleagues that the 2022 sporting year will witness series of activities to strengthen it Association reportage on new year day in Ado-Ekiti.
He said the first ever award ceremony for Sports Journalists in Ekiti State tagged “Ekiti Sports Press Awards”, ESPA which was held 4th of January of last year has been broadened and rechristened to benefit more stakeholders.
The Gogetter as he’s fondly known however said a number of fresh initiatives are in the offings.
Oladapo while highlighting some of the initiatives billed for unveiling on the 4th of January, 2022 said it aimed at touching lives and making impacts on humanity especially in the sports and media sector.
He said some of the intiatives to be unveiled are the official launch of his website, commencement of voting for the next edition of Ekiti Sports Awards, encouraging more members of SWAN to register with the National body through what he called “subsidy”.
Oladapo also promised that among other activities to be unveiled at a later date includes a scheme aimed at benefitting SWAN members, a double soccer championships for Ekiti youths.
