After Kano Pillars Defeat Rivers United Yesterday, See How The NPFL Table Looks Like

Four Times Nigeria Professional Football League Champions, Kano Pillars yesterday played host to their opponents, Rivers United at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna in the rescheduled match day six fixtures of the NPFL.

Kano Pillars were made to pick Kaduna as their alternative home ground after the League Management Company denied Sani Abacha Stadium the right to host games because it failed the required standards.

The Ahmadu Bello Stadium has however shown to be a better alternative ground for the “Sai Masu Gida” as they keep recording positive results in the ongoing 2020-21 seasons.

Yesterday game against River United was no different from the previous encounter, as Rivers United fell to a 17th minutes strike from Nyima Nwagua as Kano Pillars inflicted a second defeat of the season for the “Pride of Rivers.”

The result push Kano Pillars to the fifth position in the league table, while Rivers United occupy the number 2 slot with 12 points.

Nasarawa United remain at the apex of the league table with comfortable 14 points from six games played so far. The likes of Heartland FC, FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Abia Warriors, as well as Adamawa United are languishing on the bottom of the table.

Check out the current standing of the NPFL after yesterday’s rescheduled games.
