The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Ekiti State, Hon. Michael Awopetu has commended the sponsor of TZAR Olota Community Unity Cup, Temitayo Zubair Abdulrasaq for committing his resources into the tournament.
Hon. Awopetu said this at the ceremonial kick-off of the TZAR Olota Community Unity Cup on Monday evening.
Awopetu while commending the sponsor opined that the competition will help in discovering new talents in State.
“This is a welcome development and is inline with the vision of Mr Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and as well as the Ministry of Sports,” said Awopetu.
“The Governor, Dr. Fayemi has been asking indegenes of Ekiti State to support sports development, I think this is one of the support we are recieving from the sponsor of this competition. It a welcome development and Mr Governor will be very grateful to the sponsor.
“A lot of youths are been taking out of the streets because of the fact that they have been engaged constantly in sports development and this is a good one.
“When I see people that are enthusiast about developing the game or sports, you need to support such a person. I’m still going to invite the sponsor to my office for us to collaborate and see how we further take this competition to the next level and this is a welcome development in the real sense.” Awopetu maintained.
He charged well meaning sons and daughters of the State, sports philanthropists, spirited individuals to emulate TZAR Foundation President, Temitayo Zubair Abdulrasaq in sponsoring football competition across the State.
