Osayi Kingdom: My Focus Is To Help Doma Finish Well In The League

With barely 24hours to the resumption of the second round of the 2023-24 Nigeria Premier Football League, “Naija Footballers Forum” a whatsapp group which focuses on Nigerian players home and Abroad caught up with Doma United FC goalkeeper, Osayi Kingdom and he shared some of his thoughts going forward.

The 19 year-old goalkeeper spoke on his performance and preparedness going into the second round of the league.

NFF: Good day Osayi?

Osayi : Good evening.

NFF: How would you describe the first round of the 2023-24 Nigeria Premier Football League?

Osayi: It’s been a wonderful first half of the season I must confess as a team, and as an individual.

NFF: 19games, 13 clean sheets, 12 goals conceded, 2 assist. How would you sum up your performance?

Osayi: For me, it’s still a work in progress I believe I can still do more. Especially conceding 6 goals in 3 games. So I believe there’s more to do.

NFF: As a goalkeeper, which part of your game would you like to improve on?

Osayi: On every aspect with all sincerity. Because for you to be consistent, you have to improve or sharpen what you already have to be at the top.

NFF: How prepared is Osayi Kingdom and Doma United ahead of the second stanza which kickoff this weekend?

Osayi: The horses are always prepared for battle but the battle is of God himself. Let every preparation produce great results at the end.

NFF: Doma United are placed 3rd in the log with 32points, where do you see your team finishing at the end of the 2023-24 Nigeria Premier Football League season?

Osayi: We’re 3rd with goal difference and we trust to continue from where we stopped and even do better than the first half of the season.

NFF: With the statistics your gather in the first stanza, was there any top club within and outside the shores of the country who wanted your services?

Osayi: Definitely a lot of teams, maybe in the future I can say yes! but it’s not yet time to leave This beautiful club DOMA United FC 🥰🥰.

NFF: Are hoping to leave after the season ends if there are juicy offers on the table for you?

Osayi: Time will tell. For now I’m only focus on helping my team (Doma) finishing strong at the end of the season.

NFF: You are known as an hardworking goalkeeper, what makes you different from other goalkeepers in the League?

Osayi: Every goalkeeper is working very hard also, so It’s not about being hardworking but by God himself, just breathes on you! That’s called Grace.

NFF: Who is that one goalkeeper you model your game around?

Osayi: Femi Thomas – Abia Warriors.
Opubo Japheth – Rangers International.

NFF: You begin the stanza with a game away to Rivers United, how are you taking the game?

Osayi: Just like every other games. It’s going to be a good day for us at DOMA United FC.

NFF: Any personal target at the end of the league season?

Osayi: It’s good to have personal target! but for me; I just enjoy being me! by giving 100 percent for the badge and the name I represent.

NFF: Any message to your fans out there?

Osayi: I understand what’s like to have people who just chooses to love and support your dreams, even though they know nothing about you. And I’m not taking it for granted at all. God blessings I pray to everyone who has been supportive.
