Seaman Goalkeeping Academy Set To Nurture Future Eagles Goalkeepers

Lately, goalkeeping has become a major blow to the Nigerian national team and most countries around the world.

This blow can now be put to rest with the emergence of Seaman Goalkeeping Academy in port Harcourt, Rivers State Nigeria.

Chairman of the Academy and retired goalkeeper Innocent Uzodinma said this is his own way of giving back to the society from this beautiful game of football that made him who he is haven’t kept for Gabros football club of Nnewi, the former Olympic football club of Niamey shot stopper will be having a 5days klinic for goalkeepeers in port Harcourt.

This move is aimed at catching them young, nurture them and groom them to professional goalkeepers that can stand the test of time anywhere in the world.

In his words, Uzodinma revealed that Seaman goalkeeping academy is born out of passion to make a difference in the area of goalkeeping which according to him is not given the desired attention.

He said unlike Germany who have a goalkeeping academy which has translated to why they have produced the likes of Immanuel Nuer, Marc-André ter Stegen, Suma etc.

Nigeria and many other countries keep suffering from this challenge.

The Seaman goalkeeping klinic is expected to hold from November 14th to 18th 2023 at the Akpajo primary school Port Harcourt. Former Nigerian International and Super Eagles goalkeepers Bishop Idah Peterside and David Ngodigha will grace the event.
