AFCON 2021: How Eguavoen Might Lineup The Super Eagles Against Sudan

Super Eagles of Nigeria will continue their 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations campaign on Saturday with second fixture against the Jediane of Sudan.

Nigeria won the first group game against Egypt few days ago courtesy of Kelechi Iheanacho’s Left-footed Volley in the 30th minute of the encounter.

The victory put the Super Eagles at the submit of Group D as Guinea-Bissau and Sudan played a barren draw.

Super Eagles would hope to reach the knockout stage of the competition this coming Saturday as they lock horns with the Falcons of Jediane.

Coach Augustine Eguavoen and his coaching staff have already started drilling and preparing the players ahead of the important clash.

Meanwhile, let us take a look how Eguavoen may deploy his team for the encounter.

We expect to see the gaffer continue with the same pattern by adopting a 4-2-3-1 foundation.

Therefore, Kenneth Omeruo, Zaidu Sanusi, William Troost-Ekong and Ola Aina would be expected to provide covers for Maduka Okoye just like the way they did against the Pharaohs of Egypt.

Wilfred Ndidi and Joseph Aribo are expected to play just above the four defenders.

We could see Simon Moses and Ahmed Musa playing from the wings forward position. Kelechi Iheanacho would retain his place as a supporting striker to Taiwo Awoniyi.

Below is how the Super Eagles Might line up on Saturday:

Maduka Okoye
William Troost-Ekong
Kenneth Omeruo
Zaidu Sanusi
Ola Aina
Joseph Aribo
Wilfred Ndidi
Kelechi Iheanacho
Ahmed Musa
Simon Moses
Taiwo Awoniyi
